New Postdoc in the Lab

We are thrilled to announce the newest member of our lab, Justin Malimban, who will join us soon as a Research Fellow to work on the recently awarded R01/R37 project to develop a compact beam delivery system for ultra-fast dose delivery in upright proton therapy.

A few words from Justin:
I was born in the Philippines where I completed my bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics. Then, I moved to South Korea to pursue my master’s in medical physics at Seoul National University. This is where I first fell in love with research, working on microdosimetry for boron neutron capture therapy. Now, I’m towards the end of my PhD at the Particle Therapy Research Centre in Groningen, where I worked on developing tools to make our biologists’ lives easier when they do their proton experiments. Currently, I am still finding my place in science, which is why I decided to do a postdoc. In my spare time, I like to play table tennis and go traveling despite my love-hate relationship with flying. Fun fact: In my four years living in the Netherlands, I wasn’t able to say it out loud but I secretly love iced coffee (Shhh! 🤫).

Welcome aboard!
